Gluten-Free Naan
Description
A soft, tender flatbread made without wheat flour, this gluten-free naan is perfect for serving with curries, dips, or wraps. It has a light chew and can be cooked on a stovetop just like traditional naan.
Ingredients
- 1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt)
- 2ā3 tablespoons warm water (as needed)
- 1 tablespoon oil
Optional topping:
- Melted butter or ghee
- Minced garlic
- Fresh coriander (cilantro)

- Rolling pin
- Non-stick pan or skillet
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, combine gluten-free flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. - Form the dough
Add yogurt and oil, then mix. Gradually add warm water until a soft dough forms. - Rest the dough
Cover and let it rest for 10ā15 minutes to hydrate the flour. - Divide and shape
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each into an oval or round shape using a rolling pin. - Cook the naan
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Place the naan onto the hot pan and cook for 1ā2 minutes until bubbles form. Flip and cook the other side until lightly charred. - Finish
Brush with melted butter or ghee and sprinkle with garlic or fresh herbs if desired.
Serving Suggestions
Serve warm with curries, lentils, grilled meats, or use as a wrap for fillings.

- Add garlic and herbs directly into the dough for extra flavor.
- Use coconut yogurt for a dairy-free version.
