Introduction
Garlic Butter Lobster and Scallops is a luxurious seafood dish featuring tender lobster tails and scallops sautéed in a rich, flavorful garlic butter sauce. Perfect for special occasions or an elegant dinner at home.
Ingredients
For the Seafood
-
2 lobster tails, split lengthwise
-
12 large scallops, patted dry
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Garlic Butter Sauce
-
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
-
1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
-
Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes
Preparation Method
Step 1: Prepare the Lobster and Scallops
-
Rinse the lobster tails and scallops, then pat dry with paper towels.
-
Season both with salt and black pepper.
Step 2: Cook the Lobster Tails
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
-
Place lobster tails shell side down and cook for 4–5 minutes, then flip and cook another 3–4 minutes until lobster meat is opaque and cooked through.
-
Remove lobster from the skillet and set aside.
Step 3: Cook the Scallops
-
In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon butter.
-
Add the scallops and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and just cooked through. Remove and set aside with the lobster.
Step 4: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
-
Reduce heat to low. Add the remaining butter to the skillet.
-
Sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
-
Stir in lemon juice, parsley, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Step 5: Combine and Serve
-
Return lobster tails and scallops to the skillet, coating them evenly with the garlic butter sauce.
-
Serve immediately, spooning extra sauce over the seafood.
Serving Suggestions
-
Serve with steamed vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, or buttered pasta.
-
Garnish with additional fresh parsley and lemon wedges for presentation.
Tips
-
Do not overcook scallops—they cook very quickly and can become rubbery.
-
Use unsalted butter to control the seasoning.
-
You can add a splash of white wine to the garlic butter sauce for extra depth of flavor.
